The Pine Bluff School District is currently under the control of the State Department of Education but over the past few months, work has begun to return the district to local control.

Part of that work was the appointment of a “limited authority” school board and on Thursday, Jennifer Barberee, who is the superintendent of the district was a guest on the Oldies 1013 morning show and talked about what will happen with that board moving forward.

Morning show host Greg Horne asked Barbaree if the current members of the board will continue to serve in the interim if the state returns control or will a new election be necessary, and she responded this way.

On another subject, Barbaree was asked what will happen when school begins this fall and where will students be going to class, considering that the former Dollarway School District is now a part of the Pine Bluff District.

She then discussed students in the other grades.
