Pine Bluff police have located the parents of a two-year-old child who was wandering on the streets alone early Friday morning.

Authorities say the child was found at 3:00am at 26th Avenue and Locust Streets in Pine Bluff.

Pine Bluff police requested help from the community in an effort to find the parents and were successful in doing so.

“The family was asleep, the child woke up and decided to go for a walk,” Richard Wegner, public information office for the Pine Bluff Police Department (PBPD), told Deltaplex News.

He added that the child is fine and the Department of Human Services was notified.

“There’s nothing criminal about what happened,” Wegner said.  “All I could do is laugh because when I was about two, I did the same thing.”

In a Facebook post, the PBPD thanked everyone for their help in finding the parents.
