Pine Bluff Police Department identifies victim from Wednesday night homicide


The Pine Bluff Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one person dead. Shortly before 7:30 p.m. officers responded to 103 Park Place in reference to a shooting.

When officers arrived they found a male inside a white Dodge Challenger. The car was parked in the street in front of 103 Park Place.

The male had multiple apparent gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene by a Jefferson County Deputy Coroner. The victim was identified as 27-year-old Miguel Hoyt.

The investigation is in the early stages and there are no reported suspects at this time. Anyone with information on this homicide is asked to call the detective office at 870-730-2090 or the dispatch center at 870-541-5300.

The body will be taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy to determine the official cause and manner of death.

This is the 4th homicide for Pine Bluff in 2022.
