Pine Bluff Police arrest Pine Bluff Jr. High Student following death threat

UPDATE 9:25 PM: The Pine Bluff Police Department has issued the following statement regarding the video sent to a student by another student with a threat made in the video:

On November 17, 2024, around 11:00 pm, a disturbing situation has emerged involving a 13-year-old student from Pine Bluff Junior High School. This individual recorded a threatening video and sent it to another student. As a result of this action, the student is now at the Jack Jones Juvenile Center and has been charged with Terroristic Threatening.

According to law enforcement sources the Pine Bluff Police Department has started an investigation into a video sent from one student to another with an alleged threat involving a gun.

Monday evening several law enforcement officers were at the Pine Bluff Freshman Academy on Fluker Street in response to the alleged threat.

According to scanner traffic a student allegedly received a video message on a social media app from a separate student with a threat issued in the video. Allegedly, a gun was included in the video.

On Monday, November 18, 2024, it was brought to PBJH Administration that allegedly over the weekend there was a social media threat involving students that attend the junior high.

PBSD Administration takes all threats seriously, and out of an abundance of caution sought assistance from PB police department. This was an isolated event, however we will take every precaution.

We encourage all students to report any threat inside and outside school. The safety of our students and staff are always top priority.
