Pine Bluff Mayor Shirley Washington on Monday voiced her support for the consolidation of all three school districts in Pine Bluff into one.
Washington, a retired educator, was asked about the recent order by the State Education Department that annexed the Dollarway School District into the Pine Bluff School District effective July 1 and if she thought it was a food thing.
She said she has talked to State Education Director Johnny Key from time to time and also talks to the superintendents of all three districts in the city but the only thing her office can do is to share its opinion.
