Monday night at about 7:30 PM, Pine Bluff police officers responded to the intersection of Dollarway and Spears for a traffic collision between a vehicle and a person on a bicycle.

Officers located 62-year-old Terry Wilson of Pine Bluff lying in the roadway near a bicycle at that intersection.  

Also at the scene was the driver of an SUV who hit Mr. Wilson.

Witnesses stated that Mr. Wilson was riding the bicycle across traffic and appeared to be “wabbly” on the bike.  

According to witnesses, the driver of the SUV tried to dodge Mr. Wilson but was unable to keep from hitting him.  

Wilson sustained severe injuries from the collision and was transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Witness statements and evidence at the scene indicated that the driver of the SUV did everything possible to avoid the collision.

No citations were issued or arrests made.
