A Pine Bluff man is in jail after agents from the Tenth District Drug Task Force and Arkansas Community Correction Probation and Parole suspected the man was under the influence of narcotics.
According to a press release, Freddy Pugh of Pine Bluff was possibly under the influence of a controlled substance at the ACC office in Monticello. Agents from the Drug Task Force made contact with Pugh at a car wash on Highway 425 South, placing him under arrest after locating an outstanding warrant.
DTF Agents, members of the Arkansas State Police, and officers from the Monticello Police Department located a smoking device under the hood of the truck Pugh was driving that is common for smoking methamphetamines. The Drew County Sheriff’s Office was contacted at that time to bring K9 Aiko to perform a sniff on the vehicle.
K9 Aiko alerted on the passenger side door of the truck, leading to a search of the inside of the vehicle, where Agents discovered a container with suspected methamphetamines and a glass pipe with residue.
Pugh was then transported to the Drew County Detention Facility and was booked in on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, in addition to the original warrant.
