A Pine Bluff man currently on probation was arrested Saturday after police found a handgun in his pants.

Lamar Bealer, 18, was placed on probation in June 2020 after pleading guilty to robbery and possession of a defaced firearm, Deputy Prosecutor Jay Gerard said during a court hearing Monday.

Gerard said police were sent to the Seasons Apartments on West 33rd to investigate a report that two males were walking around with guns and saw Bealer standing alone in the complex.

Detective Chris Wieland reported that Bealer told police he was a convicted felon.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $5,000 cash-only bond for Bealer after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with being a felon in possession of a firearm. She also told him that a petition has been filed to revoke his probation and to come back to court on June 11.
