Pine bluff man arrested after allegedly hitting a woman in altercation

A Pine Bluff man who pleaded guilty to misdemeanor domestic battery earlier this year was arrested Saturday after he allegedly hit a woman during an altercation.

Cedric Cleveland, 33, was taken into custody after police were sent to Chili’s on South Olive Street at 2 p.m. Saturday in response to a reported domestic disturbance.

During a court hearing Tuesday, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson explained what happened.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $5,000 bond for Cleveland after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with a second offense of third-degree domestic battery, a felony.

He was ordered to have no contact with the victim until the case is settled and told to come back to court Dec
