Pine Bluff Lighthouse Charter School hosted a two-hour Science Night at the Boys and Girls Club of Jefferson County (BGCJC) located at First United Methodist Church on Thursday evening. The Science Night was hosted by Seeds 2 STEM a program that offers in-school field trips, science nights, virtual STEM experiences, and science after school.

The CEO of Seeds 2 STEM Branden Williams is a native of Earl, Arkansas, and a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Williams spoke with Deltaplex News about the science night being one of the core programs he and his team offer and why he came back to host an event in Pine Bluff.

The event featured free giveaway prizes, food, a photo booth, and interactive STEM activities. Lighthouse Principal John Osborn also spoke with Deltaplex about some of the activities featured at the event.

Osborn further elaborated on how Lighthouse and BGCJC teamed up with Seeds 2 Stem, a Dallas-based program.

In relation to the event, Osborn stated that they expected at least 80 people to attend the Science Night and mentioned RSVPs from families outside of the district. He went on to talk about attracting new students and the changes that are taking place at Lighthouse.
