Break out the flannel: The ’90s are coming back.
AXS TV has announced Long Live the ’90s, an upcoming archival concert series showcasing some of the biggest artists from the decade of grunge and alt-rock. It’ll premiere May 9 with a broadcast of Pearl Jam‘s Let’s Play Two, which captured Eddie Vedder and company’s 2016 concerts at Chicago’s Wrigley Field.
Long Live the ’90s will continue through May and June with playbacks of concerts by Garbage, Stone Temple Pilots, Jane’s Addiction, Rage Against the Machine and The Black Crowes. The finale, featuring Soundgarden‘s Live from the Artists Den performance, airs June 27.
“This curated concert series presents the ultimate trip down music’s memory lane, taking viewers back to one of rock’s most definitive decades with classic performances, iconic songs and groundbreaking bands that helped make the ’90s so distinct,” says AXS TV exec Sarah Weidman.
She continues, “We are excited to be able to connect — and re-connect — viewers of all ages to these incredible events, giving them the best seat in the house for powerful sets packed with the classic hits they love.”
