Pine Bluff has worked multiple drive by shootings over the past week in multiple areas of town.
In documents obtained by DeltaplexNews.com from the Pine bluff Police Department, we found the Department took reports of drive by shootings in the 5000 block of West 16th Avenue, the 100 block of South Juniper, the 500 block of West 34th Avenue. All three shootings happened between Sunday and Monday.
The first shooting was reported in the 5000 block of West 16th Avenue at approximately 9:21 p.m. when a gunshot victim arrived at Jefferson Regional for treatment. Police found multiple bullet holes in the victim’s car on the passenger side, one bullet hole in the windshield, and one bullet hole in the driver’s side of the vehicle.
The victim was at a house in the 5000 block of West 16th when he said saw a black Toyota Camry pass by the location several times. On the final pass a passenger in the back seat opened fire while the vehicle was still in motion. The victim stated he dove to the ground in order to prevent him from being shot, and said he was struck in the hand.
Additional witnesses at the scene gave statements saying there was additional damage to the house due to being hit during the shooting. Multiple shell casings were found in the street in front of the house.
A second shooting took place Sunday night in the 500 block of West 34th Avenue at approximately 9:50 p.m.
A victim told police that she was walking inside of her home at the time of the shooting when she felt a sharp pain in her back. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to her shoulder.
A third shooting took place Sunday at approximately 11 p.m. in the 2200 block of West 17th Avenue.
The complainant stated that a person in a grey Nissan fired multiple shots into the air before shooting at the victim. No one was struck in this shooting.
A fourth shooting took place on Monday in the 100 block of South Juniper at approximately 3:15 p.m.
A victim was found lying on the floor inside of the residence with a gunshot wound to her left hip area. The victim stated she was loading a deep freezer inside of the house when she was shot.
Multiple shell casings we found outside of the residence in the street and in front of the residence.
