Pine Bluff Police Department searching for homicide suspect

The Pine Bluff Police Department has reported that Kevin McKinney has turned himself in. Detectives are still actively searching for James Dixson.

ORIGINAL POST:

On Tuesday July 26, 2022 at around 5:00 PM, the Pine Bluff Fire Department responded to a residential fire at 2307 W. 11th.  The firefighters discovered a badly burned body inside the residence while extinguishing the fire.  Pine Bluff Police was also on scene and were notified of the discovery of a dead body.  The cause of the death and fire was not apparent at the time of the discovery.  The body was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for an autopsy to determine cause and manner of death.

On July 29, 2022 a doctor with the Arkansas Crime Laboratory notified Pine Bluff detectives that the autopsy revealed that the cause of death was gunshot wounds and the manner of death has been ruled as a homicide.  The identity of the deceased has not yet been positively identified due to the condition of the body.

Detectives with the Pine Bluff Police Department have developed two suspects in this homicide.  James Dixson and Kevin McKinney are both wanted for Capital Murder, Arson, Abuse of a Corpse, and Possession of a Firearm by a Certain Person. Both suspects are 42 years old.  Both of their weights and weights are unknown and both were last known to live in Pine Bluff.
