A proposed ordinance calling for all the city boards and commissions to submit monthly and annual reports to the Pine Bluff City Council was read for the first time Monday night.

The proposed ordinance provides that beginning by August 15, each board and commission will submit a monthly report which will include the actions taken by the board or commission during the previous month and a copy of any meeting minutes.

Beginning in January 2022, and in January of each subsequent year, an annual report is to be submitted summarizing the activities and accomplishments of the board or commission for the previous year, and including the name of each member of the board or commission and the expiration date of their term.

Those reports will be submitted to the city clerk and distributed to each member of the council.

The proposed ordinance also noted that the reports are public records and subject to the state’s Freedom of Information Act.
