A juvenile was killed and three other people were injured in a one-vehicle accident in rural Hot Spring County Monday night.

According to a preliminary report, a 2013 Dodge Caravan driven by David Lee Collins, 28, of Jonesboro was westbound on U.S. 270 when the vehicle left the roadway and rammed a driveway culvert before hitting a large standing Oak tree.

The juvenile, who was a passenger in the vehicle was ejected and Collins was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated with serious injuries. A second passenger, 27-year-opld Evan Danielle Watson, 27, of Malvern was taken to a hospital with a serious head injury and a second juvenile received minor cuts and crapes but was not seriously injured.

The accident was reported at 8:09 p.m. and the death was the 398th so far this year on the state’s highways.
