One person was killed and three others injured in a two-vehicle accident in Cleveland County early Thursday morning.

According to a preliminary report, Madison Jackson Cary, 20, of Gurdon was northbound on U.S. 167 north of Moro Creek when the 2018 GMC she was driving crossed the center line and struck a 2018 Hyundai driven by Kimberly Vaughn that was southbound head-on.

Vaughn, 57, of El Dorado and two passengers in her car, Jonothon Messer, 35, and Ashley Messer, 30, also of El Dorado were injured and taken to hospitals in Little Rock and Pine Bluff.

The accident was reported at 4:35 a.m. and the death was the 257th so far this year on the state’s highways.
