One person was killed and a second injured in a two-vehicle accident in Lonoke County Friday afternoon.

According to a preliminary report, Thomas Price, 68, of North Little Rock was west on Bevis Road approaching the intersection of Highway 15 and failed to stop at the intersection, crossing in to Highway 15 and directly into the path of a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Deborah Smith, 70, of Lonoke.

The Malibu struck the front of Price’s vehicle on the driver’s side door. Both vehicles ran off the roadway and Price later died at UAMS. Smith was injured and taken to a hospital.

The accident was reported at 5:26 p.m. and the death was the 415th so far this year on the state’s highways.
