A Rison woman was killed and four people injured in a two-vehicle accident in rural Bradley County Friday night.

According to a preliminary report, Leshia Sowheaver, 59, was a passenger in a 2006 Toyota driven by Doyle Sowheaver, 60, also of Rison that was northbound on U.S. Highway 63 at 8:20 p.m. The vehicle was rounding a curve when it crossed the center lane and struck a 2022 Volkswagen Atlas head-on. The right front of the Toyota hit the right front of the Volkswagen.

Doyle Sowheaver and three passengers in his vehicle, Lishia R. Billings, 36, Justin Billings, 38, and a minor, all of Rison were injured and taken to Jefferson Regional Hospital at Pine Bluff.

The death was the 512th so far this year on the state’s highways.
