The Pine Bluff Police Department is investigating a homicide that took place on November 4, 2024, at around 4:30 p.m. at Suzanne Apartments, located at 2123 S. Blake Street.
Officers responded to a shooting report in the parking lot and found an unresponsive black male, identified as 22-year-old Taron Jerrell Dismuke, on the ground on the north side of the complex. Dismuke was declared deceased at the scene by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
The suspect, 22-year-old Leon Jermaine Johnson, turned himself in and was taken into custody around 6:30 p.m. by Pine Bluff Detectives. Johnson is set to be interviewed and will be transported to W.C. Dub Brassell Detention Center, facing a Murder in the First Degree charge pending further investigation.
Pine Bluff Detectives are gathering evidence and interviewing potential witnesses to understand the circumstances leading to the incident.
