Rhonda Jean Thompson, age 57, of Rison passed away on August 2, 2024 in Pine Bluff, AR. She was born on January 15, 1967 to Bill Mitchell Sr. and Jean Selma. She was known for loving to spend time with her grandkids, camping and going to the lake with her significant other Clifton Cross, going to mud races with friends, shopping, supporting her grandkids in sports and dance, and traveling. She was known for always being kind to others and lending a helping hand to those in need and she was always seeking a new adventure and chasing sunsets. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Thompson, father Bill Mitchell SR., brothers Jim Mitchell and Jason Mitchell, and stepson Jason Thompson.
She is survived by her mother Jean Selman of Fordyce, daughter Leslie Stephenson (Ryan) of Rison, brothers Ronnie Mitchell (Jannie) of Lake Village and Bill Mitchell JR. (Danielle) of Red Oak, TX, sister Sonya Launius (Monte) of Bearden, stepson Bart Thompson (Shannan) of TN, grandsons Jason Stephenson, Taylor Massey, and Chad Thompson, granddaughter Tessa Stephenson, and her loving significant other Clifton Cross. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Prosperity Cemetery.
