1946-2024
Mrs. Ray Jones was born May 15, 1946, in Pine Bluff, AR to the late Oscar and Florance Jones. He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at the Old Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church of Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
He graduated from Merrill High School.
He worked many many years at the Port of Pine Bluff.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, western movies, the Pittsburgh Steelers and he LOVED his rice!
He married the love of his life Betty Abram-Jones September 22,1967. To this union three children were born: Rodrick Ray Jones, Winifred Jones and Pamela Jones.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Betty Jones, his son Rodrick Jones, his parents Oscar and Florence Jones, four brothers: Oscar Jones, Jr., Leroy Jones, Frank Jones, and Herman Jones, and four sisters Christine Jones, Amy Harris, Gloria Jones, Doris (Jones) Townsend.
He leaves to cherish his memory: two daughters; Winifred (Jermaine) Mitchell of Mishawaka, Indiana, Pamela (Steve) Austin of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, two sisters; Shirley Jones, Lena (Jones) Mustiful both of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, five grandchildren; Zalen Reed, Holden (Chelsey) Leverett, CaRaina Austin, Brandon Mitchell, Symone Jones, six great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday, September 13, 2024, at Brown Funeral Home Pine Bluff, AR. Funeral Services 2:30 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Old Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church Pine Bluff, AR by Pastor Jerry Hayes. Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery Pine Bluff, AR by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff, AR. His body will lie in-state from 1:45 p.m. until service time.
