1939-2024
Marnelle Norton Clement, age 85, of Pine Bluff, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
Born May 22, 1939 at New Edinburg, AR, she was a daughter of the late Voy Russell Norton and Lula Mae Berry Norton. She graduated from New Edinburg High School in 1957.
She married V. M. “Big” Clement on August 15, 1969 and he preceded her in death on September 13, 1996. Also predeceasing her are a son, Manson Clement; siblings, Loyd Norton, Travis Norton, Voy Ray Norton, Dorothy Wright (Jim), and Joyce Mullins (Tom); a nephew, Chuck Wright; a great-niece, Haley Addison; and a great-grandchild, Caleb Davis.
Survivors include a daughter, LuAnne Davis (Herbie); a daughter-in-law, Marcia Clement; sisters-in-law, Chris Norton, Pat Norton and Anna Mae Spears; nephews, Voy Ray Norton (Donna), T. A. Norton (Kim), Kelly Norton, and Mike Mullins (Melinda); nieces, Candy Norton, Camille Norton, Chrystal Corcoran (Brandt), Sandy Trott (Dan), LuAnn Bussey (Richard), Linda Cotter (Jim), and Terri Pennington; grandchildren, Taylor Clement (Katy), Payton Beltson (Zane), and Trey Davis; four great-grandchildren; along with numerous great-grandnieces and nephews all of whom affectionately called her “Aunt Marnie”. She is also survived by many close friends and cousins.
Mrs. Clement worked for Pine Bluff National Bank (now Relyance Bank) for many years prior to her retirement.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff. A diehard Razorback fan, she and her late husband and others made many trips following the football and basketball teams. She loved playing Bunko and line dancing. Mrs. Clement also enjoyed going on trips with the Relyance Bank Crown Club and was a volunteer at Jefferson Regional Medical Center and a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 25, 2024 beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son. Her funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Dalton Adger and Mr. Taylor Clement officiating. Interment will be in Clement Cemetery at Grapevine.
