1941-2024
Madie Lucille (Lisenbey) Herrington, born on March 23, 1941, in Sheridan, Arkansas, entered into eternal rest on October 31, 2024. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and faithful member of the First Assembly of God Church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Her life was a
testament to love, creativity, and devotion.
Madie was the cherished daughter of the late Robert Alton and Thelma (Fite) Lisenbey, and her life was filled with warmth, talent, and generosity. A gifted artist, she poured her creativity into painting, woodworking, and crafting, leaving behind treasures that will be cherished for generations. Madie was also a skilled seamstress who lovingly sewed countless creations, each stitch a reflection of her care and dedication to those she held dear.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Maurice Edwin Herrington, who passed on May 8, 2018, as well as her brothers Bennie and Fred, her sister Elizabeth, and her grandson Cody.
Her legacy of love and strength lives on through her daughters: Carolyn Loredo (Hilario) of Star City, Renee Newman (Dennis) of Farmington, Maureen Hanson (Andy) of Sheridan, Karen Lemons (David) of Donaldson, Katrina Meek (Kevin) of Star City, and bonus son Scotty Warren (Barbara) of Sheridan.
She is also survived by her brother, Carol Lisenbey, of Washington; her 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, her namesake; her loyal dog, Chomper; and a host of extended family and friends who will deeply miss her presence.
Pallbearers honoring Madie’s life and memory include her grandsons: Joshua Reeves, Jared and Casey Hanson, Corey Meek, Rio Loredo, Connor, Tristan, and Collin Lemons, and Logan Nobles.
Madie's family will welcome friends at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service to honor her life will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville. Her family and friends take comfort in knowing that Madie has found peace with her Heavenly Father and is reunited with those she loved dearly. Madie's life will be remembered as a shining example of faith, family, and heartfelt creativity.
