Lester Ray Scroggins, 72, of White Hall, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 25, 2024.
Born February 2, 1952, in Dewitt, Arkansas, to Virgil and Ruby “Carter” Scroggins.
He married Deborah “Debby” Elaine Greenhill in 1973, at East Side Baptist Church in Dewitt.
After graduating from Dewitt Public Schools in 1970, Lester went on to attend and graduate from Henderson State University with a Bachelor of Science and Master’s degree in education. He later attended Northeast Louisiana University acquiring a specialist degree in Administration. He then worked as a Junior and High School Coach for 11 years in Arkansas and one year in Louisiana. Lester continued his career as a principal for the next 18 years. He worked in many school districts across Arkansas, retiring in 2006.
Lester always loved to exercise and competed on the national level with powerlifting before he decided to pursue bodybuilding, where he won several titles. He was very passionate about bodybuilding and loved competing alongside his son on the bodybuilding stage. He got his personal training certification and helped train and teach many clients how to correctly lift weights and eat healthy.
He was a member of Summit Baptist Church. Lesters family and friends tell stories of how much love they felt from him and all the fun times they have had.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, James Oscar Scroggins.
Survivors include his wife, a son, Brent Scroggins (Lisa) of Conway; a daughter, Celeste Scroggins Gorman (Jason) of White Hall; grandchildren, Kate Scroggins, Max Scroggins, Aiden Jenkins, Jayden Gorman, Kali Gorman and Italy Scroggins; a sister, Ruby Jane Scroggins Pool and brothers, Willie Scroggins and Robert L. Scroggins (Pat); and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 10 a.m. with funeral at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Robinson & Fuller Funeral Home in White Hall. The Rev. Scott Jones of Summitt will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
