1931-2024
Katherine Venable Robertson, 93 of Dumas, Arkansas passed away October 15, 2024, with family by her side. Born in Perry, Arkansas on October 8, 1931, the daughter of the late Charles Venable and Easter Freeman Venable. Her parents, beloved husband Charles Q. “Charlie” Robertson, SR., and son Charles Q. “Charlie” Robertson, Jr, and grandsons Chase Robertson and Jeff Gibson, brothers George and John Venable, sisters Hazel Robertson, Dollie Stain, Lucille Clayton, Madelline Blocker and Alma Luker, all preceded her in death.
Mrs. Katherine was a member of Douglas Baptist Church, she was a homemaker, she was known for her Jam’s and Jelly’s that she would preserve from her muscadine vines after harvesting at the end of summer. And would share with her family, if they were lucky she would serve with her delicious fresh homemade biscuits. She devoted her life to her family, enjoyed Sunday family meals, and enjoyed growing a large garden each year.
Survivors include son Jerry (Brenda) Robertson of Gould, Arkansas and daughters Mary Smith of Dumas, Arkansas, Wanda Robertson of Watson Chapel, Arkansas Linda (Hoot) Gibson of Gould, Arkansas and Dodie (Gillis) Griffin of Tillar, Arkansas, sixteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation from 5-7 pm, Thursday, October 17, 2024, Griffin Funeral Home. Funeral services 2pm, Friday, October 18, 2024, at Griffin Funeral Home with Rev. Dubs Byers officiating with interment following at Walnut Lake Cemetery, Pickens, Arkansas. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers, Paul Venable, Todd Griffin, Jody Robertson, Justin Robertson, Kris Robertson, Charlie Nichols and Rhett Nichols.
