1949-2024
Josiephine was born March 25, 1949, in her hometown of Dumas, Arkansas to parents Sterling Thomas and Genovia Gilliam. From a young age the importance of faith and family was instilled in her and she carried this notion throughout her life as a mother to her 9 children. Being a mother was the highlight of Josiephine's life and she often reflected on fond memories of travel, adventure and the joys that come from motherhood. At the core of Josiephine’s being was her faith in Christ and she fellowshipped in ministry at her church home, True Harvest Missionary Baptist Church. The love of God is a concept that Josiephine knew all too well and this radiated through the love that she bestowed unto others. Josiephine believed in faith, family and love which is essentially the true meaning of a beautiful life. A life worth living, a life of fulfillment and a life of peace. As we remember Josiephine let’s hold dear to our hearts her smile, welcoming heart and warm embrace. Although she has shed her earthly vessel, her spirit and legacy will live on forever.
