1941-2024
Joe Marion Robertson, Sr., age 81 passed away September 8th, 2024. He was born September 27th, 1941 to the late John and Graydell Robertson. He was a lifelong farmer and loved piddling. Joe was volunteer firefighter for 64 years, a city councilman for many years and a Drew County Auxiliary deputy. He was a founding member of Mt. Tabor hunting club for over 50 years. He was an active member of Tillar Baptist Church for 70 years and served as a junior deacon at a young age.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by four brothers; John Bennett Robertson, Kenneth Robertson, Robert Robertson, Tommy Robertson and one sister Lawanda Robertson. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Robertson of 57 years, son Joe (Karen) Robertson Jr. from Tillar; daughter LeAnn (Jim) Green of Sheridan, Arkansas and two grandsons; Joshua Robertson of Sherwood, Arkansas and Tyler (Lauren) Robertson and one great granddaughter, Hollyn of Tillar, Arkansas.
A visitation will be held Monday, September 9th, 2024 from 6:00-8:00pm at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Chapel in McGehee, AR. Funeral service will be Tuesday, September 10th, 2024 at 2:00pm at the Tillar Baptist Church in Tillar, Arkansas with Bro. Bobby Pennington officiating. Pallbearers will be Tillar Fire department. Interment will follow at the Tillar cemetery.
