Joann Prather, 77, of Jefferson, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024. She was born August 17, 1947, in Warren, AR, to Huey and Maedean Thornton Ashcraft. She was a member of Orion Missionary Baptist Church and was a retired purchasing agent for D.C.T. Joann loved her family. She was a grandmother to many, even if they weren’t related. She also loved caring for any animal that came to her home.
Joann was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Arlis Stone and James Prather; a son, Dewayne Stone; two sisters; and one brother.
Survivors include her best friend, Russell Ault of Redfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Mark James of Pine Bluff, Beverly and Mike Reeves of Ft. Smith, and Angie and Brad Valentine of Sheridan; son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Karen Stone of Redfield; step-daughter and step-son-in-law, Kathi and Jerry Maldonado of Texas; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Robinson and Fuller White Hall Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Robinson and Fuller White Hall Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery.
