GARY “EARL” STRATTON WENT TO HIS HEAVENLY HOME ON AUGUST 27, 2024. SURROUNDED BY HIS FRIENDS AND FAMILY AT THE YOUNG AGE OF 71.
EARL WAS AN ADVID OUTDOORSMEN & WAS TOTALLY AT EASE SITTING IN A DEERSTAND OR COOKING WITH FAMILY ON ONE OF HIS FAMOUS BIG EARL MEALS WHICH COULD BE BBQ, BEANS OR CAT HEAD BISQUITS & GRAVY ONCE THE FOOD WAS FULLY PREPARED, HE SHARED WITH FRIENDS, FAMILY AND THE COMMUNITY. EARL TRULY HAD A SERVANTS HEART. EARL HAD MANY TALENTS FROM COOKING, BUILDING ALMOST ANYTHING WITH WOOD, HE HAD BUILT QUITE A FEW IN GRANT COUNTY OVER HIS YEARS IN CONSTRUCTION. HE WAS THE BEST DADDY EVER, WONDERFUL BROTHER TO HIS SIBILINGS AND ONE THING HE TOOK PRIDE IN WAS BEING THE BEST UNCLE EARL THAT HE COULD BE, AS WELL AS HELPING ANY NEIGHBOR OR FRIEND IN NEED AND HIS COMMUNITY AS WELL.
EARL IS PRECEEDED IN DEATH BY A COUSIN, DOUG STRATTON AND HIS PARENTS MR. & MRS. BILL STRATTON
LEFT SURVIVING HIM. HIS DAUGHTER, MORGAN STRATTON KINGSBURY(DAVID) OF CABOT, SISTER-KATHY MARSH(DAVID) OF SHERIDAN, SISTER-LISA HENRY(GAYLON) OF SHERIDAN, BROTHER-BILLY(PUG) STRATTON(DONNA) OF SHERIDAN (4) FURGRANDCHILDREN: SHASHA, MIDNIGHT, WINSTON AND RUGGER, NEPHEWS- CHAD MARSH OF MALVERN, CASEY MARSH(CARLA) OF PRATTSVILLE, CODY MARSH(BRANDY) OF GRAPEVINE, LEIF HENRY OF SHERIDAN, SHANE WALLER (TANDY CAPPS) OF JUDSONIA STACEY YANCEY OF SHERIDAN. NEICES- TYLER MOFFETT(KEVIN), KELLY SWIGER(KENNY) OF SHERIDAN, TERRI HOLMES (CHARLIE) OF ULM, MISTY COX(SEAN) OF SHERIDAN, LINDSAY NORRIS(DREW) OF SHERIDAN AND A HOST OF SPECIAL COUSINS AND MANY FRIENDS.
ONE THING FOR SURE IS BIG EARL NEVER MET A STRANGER HE COULDN’T TALK TO. EVEN AS HIS DAUGHTER I USED TO TELL HIM ALL THE TIME DAD YOU WILL TALK THE HORNS OFF A BILLY GOAT. HE GOT IT FROM HIS MOMMA.
FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE FRIDAY, August 30, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Center Grove Cemetery near Sheridan. Visitation will be Thursday, from 6:00-8:00 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are his nephews, Casey Marsh, Chad Marsh, Cody Marsh, Shane Waller, Leif Henry, and Jimmy Graham. Honorary pallbearers are James Richardson, Danny DeMoss, Herbie Waymack, Mac Johnson and Darren Funderburg.
