1940-2024
Emma Jean Hammons Smith of Sheridan, Arkansas was born May 20, 1940 in Dubach, Louisiana, the daughter of the late William Victor and Alice LaDelle Horton Hammons.
Ms. Smith died Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 84.
She was a loving wife and mother as well as a wonderful aunt and sister. Her nieces and nephews adored her and she would always call them on the phone to talk. She was a homemaker and her hobby was crocheting. She loved to make special crochet dolls, afghans and painted ceramics.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Vernon D. Smith; son, Jeffrey D. Smith; sister, Helen Hays; brother, Elvis Hammons; nephew Randy Hammons and great niece, Joy Hammons.
Survivors: sister-in-law, Cathy Hammons and numerous nieces, nephews and her special pets, Dixie and Joey.
Graveside service will be Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Fellowship Cemetery in Dubach, Louisiana with Bro. Ricky Matlock officiating.
