1937-2024
Ella Reace Nutt, age 87 of Thornton, Arkansas passed away Friday, August 9, 2024. She was born June 26, 1937, to Albert “Abb” Nutt and May Pennington Nutt in Fordyce, Arkansas.
She attended Fordyce public schools and played women’s basketball on the high school team.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings, Ludie Belle, Fred, Clyde, Houston, Fay, and a beloved younger cousin raised in the family home, Margie Pennington.
Ella Reace is survived by two sisters-in-law, Doris Nutt of Thornton, AR and Emogene Nutt of Little Rock; and her life-long friend, Shelba Stringfellow of Fordyce, AR, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home. Burial will be at Tanyard Cemetery near Fordyce.
Pallbearers will be nephews, and Heath Hornaday will be an honorary pallbearer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tanyard Cemetery Association, C/O Andy Taylor, 3600 West Hwy 8, Fordyce, AR 71742.
