Carlton Elroy Buie, 67
1956-2024

Mr. Carlton Buie was born to Leonard and Curtistine Buie on November 5, 1956, and passed away on August 12, 2024. He committed his life to Christ under the guidance of Rev. Jerry Hayes and was a devoted member of Old Morning Star Baptist Church, where he served as an Usher.

Carlton completed his education at Pine Bluff High School in 1975 and went on to attend the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. He graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education.

Carlton loved fishing and appreciated the luxury of nature, seeing it as God's gracious gift. He also liked to cook, renowned for his signature Pecan Pie and Greens. He enjoyed sports and had an unwavering loyalty towards the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Lakers, and the Arkansas Razorbacks. He had a special taste in music across all genres, demonstrating his love for music of all kinds.

Surviving Carlton are his loved ones: Lettie Jean Lewis of Pine Bluff, AR, two daughters Shelisa Buie Humphrey (Aurelius) and Leslie Montgomery; four sons Carlos Buie (Katina), Julius Buie, Marcus Lewis (Tiffany), and the late Tracy Lewis.

Carlton’s family consisted of five brothers: Leonard Buie III, Michael Buie, Darryl Buie, The late Julius Levi Buie, and Stephen Brown; ten sisters: Alma Rose Singleton, Gwendolyn Peebles, Joyce Smith, Marsha Jackson, Nedra White, Debra Alexander, Dadonna Marshall, Cheryl Handley, Denise Johnson, and the late Carol Falcon. He leaves behind three uncles: Henry Buie, Eddie Buie, and Reverand Nathan Buie; five aunts: Mildred Brown, Estella Nelson, Laverne Bryant, Iciphine Jones, and Barbara Clay; and eleven grandchildren.

Visitation 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2024, at Old Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church Pine Bluff, AR.

Funeral Service 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Old Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church Pine Bluff, AR by Pastor Jerry Hayes. Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery Pine Bluff, AR by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff, AR. His body will lie in-state from 12:15 p.m. until service time.
