1944-2024
Bill Price, age 80, of Pine Bluff, passed away Friday, October 25, 2024, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Bill was born June 26, 1944, in Pine Bluff. He was a son of James and Mable Brawdy Price.
He was reared and received his early education in Pine Bluff and McGehee, graduating from McGehee High School in 1962. Bill attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
Bill was an accomplished athlete in his younger years and an avid hunter, being one of the first in this area to use a recurve bow. However, later in life, fishing became his favorite past time. His children have many treasured memories of fishing trips with their dad.
After working at the Cotton Belt Railroad for a short time, Bill became a real estate broker. He eventually opened his own firm, working in both sales and property management for over 50 years.
Bill was a member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church. Coming to faith later in life, Bill respected the lives of many whom he admired for their steady walk with the Lord, which he desired for himself. He loved and cared for his wife, Cynthia, of 58 years, whom he married on September 2, 1966.
Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a baby brother, Donald, and two sisters, Linda Moore and Jimmie Nell Rowland. Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Bankston; two sons, Rob Price, and Jamey Price (Michelle); two daughters, Rachel Price Berryhill (Russ), and Rebekah Price Finney (Matt); and 12 grandchildren, Katelyn, Madelyn, Ashlyn, Jacob, Hannah, Victoria, Caleb, Caroline, Charlotte Ruth, Stuart, David, and Catherine. Other survivors include a nephew, three nieces, and a sister-in-law.
Bill had a lifelong passion for music. He and Cynthia loved traveling to various musical performances. However, one of Bill’s favorite things to do with Cynthia was having 2:00 p.m. lunch dates in a practically empty restaurant. They also enjoyed attending their grandchildren’s many extracurricular activities.
