1938-2024
Becky Wynne Reed, 86 of Pine Bluff, AR passed away peacefully, Friday August 2, 2024, at the Springs Nursing Facility. She was born August 1, 1938, in Pine Bluff to the late Charles D. Wynne and Juanita Ward Wynne. Becky was a graduate of Pine Bluff High School where she played percussion in the High School Band under the direction of R.B. “Scrubby” Watson.
In 1957, she married her high school sweetheart, Benny Charles Reed, and had enjoyed over 56 years of marriage until his passing in 2013. A lifelong lover of the arts, Becky was a beautician, having worked at the Jefferson Square Beauty Shop, the House of Fred and later Merle Norman. Becky was an avid gardener and loved traveling. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff where she sang in the choir. One of her proudest moments was when she was able to sing at Carnegie Hall with the First Baptist Church Choir. She also was a proud member of the Pine Bluff Community Band.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and younger brother, Johnny Wynne Sr. Becky is survived by her three sons, Charles Ward Reed, and wife, Joanne, of Pine Bluff, David H. Reed and wife, Karen, of Little Rock and Jon Michael Reed and wife, D.D., of White Hall; five grandchildren, Cole Reed, Taylor Reed, Reagan Reed, Summer Henderson, and Brayson Smallwood; brother-in-law, Zedic Reed and sister-in-law, Sue Reed, both of White Hall; and nephew, John Wynne of Anchorage, AK.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff, followed by funeral services at 11:00 A.M., officiated by the Revs. Dalton Adger and Kenneth Thornton. Private burial will be in Graceland Cemetery under the care of Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors.
