Barbara Chastain Tracy, 91

Barbara Chastain Tracy, 91, died Wednesday, September 11, 2024 in Pine Bluff, AR. She was born January 16, 1933, in Little Rock, AR to Earl Chastain and Gladys Barth Chastain Smith. She graduated from Little Rock High School in 1950. She earned an associate’s degree in radiology from Little Rock Junior College in 1952.

After raising her 4 children, Barbara, along with her business partner (Jaclyn “Jackie” Hollingsworth), opened River City Antiques. They, along with their husbands, made many trips to Europe purchasing antiques.

Barbara was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Altar Guild and enjoyed spending time with the Mi Casa Spanish Ministry. She was a member of the Junior League of Pine Bluff and the Medical Auxiliary. Barbara and Clyde enjoyed snow skiing excursions out west, many times accompanied by family and friends. After Clyde’s retirement, they moved to Pensacola, FL before returning to Pine Bluff in 2006.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Dr. Clyde Tracy; and a grandson, Derek Tracy of Chicago, IL.

Survivors include her children, Mike (Diane) Tracy of Jefferson, NC, Carol (Tony) Gurley of Columbus, MS, Nancy (Lee) Pearce of White Hall, AR, and Bill Tracy of Southaven, MS; her grandchildren, whom she was known to as “Mimi”, Brooke (Kevin) Rice of Wilmington, NC, Leah (Neil) Mullins of Caledonia, MS, Sarah (Ryan) Masche of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Anna (Sam) Chappell of Columbus, MS, Miguel Yaguez of Madrid, Spain, Elena Yaguez of White Hall, AR, Julio (Jessica) Yaguez of White Hall, AR, and Tony (Rebecca) Tracy of Orlando, FL; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Tracy will be in state from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors. A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Oakland Cemetery in Warren with Charles E. Fuller officiating.
