Barbara Ann Henley, 76 of Star City, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at her home. She was born August 1, 1948 in Scott City, KS. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Star City and was a retired school secretary and teacher’s aide. Barbara was a loving wife and mother who never said a bad word about anyone, she never complained or asked for help in 16 years of having Parkinson’s.
Preceding her in death was her father, Carel D. Burnett.
Survivors include her husband, who she married December 23, 1966, Donald Henley of Star City; mother, Ruby Hunsaker Burnett of Star City; son, Jeff (Melissa) Henley of Portland, TX; daughter, Madonna Gwin of Portland, TX; 2 brothers, Ronnie (Barbara Lynn) Burnett of Lebanon, MO and Mike (Glynetta) Burnett of East End; sister, Betty (Philip) Bitely of Star City; 4 grandchildren, Abigail Gwin of Chicago, IL, Brice Gwin of Portland, TX, Seth Henley and Shelby Henley, both of Hot Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 2:00PM Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City with Bro. Jimbo Manning and Bro. Russell Hull officiating. Visitation is 1:00-2:00PM Thursday at the funeral home. Burial at Holly Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers are Weldon Wynn, Jimmy Butler, Joe Lynn Newton, Tommy Goodnight, Mike Weast, and Aaron Cruce.
