Gary Williams, the new Superintendent for the White Hall School District, attended Tuesday night’s school board meeting to observe how the board conducts business.

Following the meeting he spoke with Deltaplex News to discuss what made him interested in the job once current Superintendent Doug Dorris announced his retirement at the end of the year.

Williams said that he has been on campus visiting with teachers and other staff, and initial meetings have gone “very well”.

He said his first order of business will be to learn more about the district at the ground level.

One big order of business for the district is to hire a new head football coach. Williams will be a part of that process, and he said he hopes to have a resolution by the March 4 school board meeting.
