New Oncology Center and Covid-19 discussed by hospital officials

As the state is experiencing an increase in the number of reported cases of COVID-19, the numbers for Pine Bluff and Jefferson County are low.

Appearing on the Oldies 101.3 morning show Friday, Wendy Talbot, the Chief Experience Officer at Jefferson Regional reported that on Friday, there were only two patients being treated for COVID-19, one of them in the Intensive Care Unit. She said the positivity rate for the county is 1.4 percent which she described as “very good,” but then issued this word of caution.

On Another subject, Jefferson Regional broke ground for its new radiation oncology center last week and hospital Chief Operations Officer Peter Austin explained what the center will do.

Austin also talked about what the center will do.

Talbot was asked about the patient experience with the center on the campus of the hospital.
