The City of Kingsland in Cleveland County has a new mayor, according to the Cleveland County Herald.
At a recent meeting, the Kingsland City Council appointed Karen Wiscaver as Mayor, replacing former Mayor Sharon Crosby, who officially resigned Dec. 31.
Wiscaver had been a member of the Kingsland City Council before her appointment and will serve the remaining two years of Crosby’s term.
The council declared a vacancy for the position Wiscaver held and with the possibility that a replacement could be named in a few days.
