Court records allege an Arkansas woman accused in a murder-for-hire plot wanted her husband and his ex-wife killed so she could inherit his business and receive his life insurance policy.
Stephanie Rogers is the wife of former Monticello Mayor Joe Rogers. Records indicate the 48-year-old was jailed October 22, 2018 on charges of capital murder conspiracy and solicitation. Her bond is $500,000. The records don’t indicate if she has an attorney.
Rogers was arrested earlier in October following an investigation that began when an informant told authorities Rogers had approached her about hiring someone to kill her husband’s ex-wife, Debbie Rogers.
Court records showed that Stephanie Rogers wanted Debbie Rogers killed to inherit Joe Rogers’ business. Stephanie Rogers also wanted her husband killed to receive his life insurance policy and control his business.
