A multiple vehicle accident in Drew County Friday afternoon claimed the life of an 86-year-old woman.
According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, the driver of a Nissan Sentra was backing out of a parking spot at WalMart in Monticello when the vehicle hit five other parked vehicles, all on the right side, and hit a pedestrian, identified as Esther M. Hudson of Monticello.
Hudson was taken to Drew Memorial Hospital where she died.
The accident was reported at 3:01 p.m.
The preliminary report did not indicate any other injuries as a result of the accident.
