The Mayor’s Office of Monticello announced Monday that they will be hosting an informal conference at the Monticello City Hall in the council chambers on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.  The purpose of getting together will be to discuss the local government’s response to the recent ice storm. County Judge Jessie Griffin will be present to co-host the meeting.

The purpose of this meeting is to take suggestions from city and county department heads (and other attendees) on how we can become more efficient during incidents like the storm we experienced last week.  Hopefully, through meetings like this, we can find out our needs and shortcomings, our attributes, and how we can better prepare for future incidents that impact our community.

Mayor Jason Akers advised the community to call their offices if they need assistance 870-367-4400.
