The Monticello Advertising and Promotions Commission has several events planned this spring and summer, according to the Advance Monticellonian Newspaper.
At their monthly meeting March 27, commissioners discussed the Spring of the Square event planned May 19.
According to Ryan Copico, this will be a night time event featuring vendors, organizations and live entertainment and he said within 24 hours after advertising for the event began, more than 30 vendors has shown interest, and that did not include food trucks.
On July 1, there will be fireworks and food trucks and the fireworks will be provided by the same company that did them last year, Hog Wylde Pyro.
Commissioners also discussed the subject of the event center and it was suggested that they tour centers in communities of similar size and demographics. Stuttgart and Arkadelphia were mentioned as possible sites to tour.
