University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Chancellor Laurence B. Alexander has been officially approved as the new Chancellor of the University of Michigan-Flint.

He was approved during a meeting of the Michigan Board of Trustees.

Alexander served as Chancellor of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff for 11 years and announced earlier this month that he would be leaving.

According to a letter from Alexander to the UAPB community, the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees will select his replacement and are expected to appoint an interim chancellor while a search is held for a permanent replacement.

Alexander’s last day at UAPB is scheduled to be June 28 and he will take over as Chancellor at UAM-Flint on July 1. That appointment is for five years.
