Metallica raised $200,000 through their Month of Giving charity campaign.

The money will be split between two organizations, Feeding America and Direct Relief, with each receiving $100,000.

“We are grateful for Metallica and its fans for their continued commitment to help provide meals to our neighbors,” says Feeding America VP of Corporate Partnerships Lauren Biedron. “Their gift of $100,000 will help the Feeding America network provide at least 1 million meals to children and families, many of whom continue to face hardships in light of the pandemic.”

“We are profoundly thankful to Metallica and Metallica fans worldwide for their support, which will translate directly into helping people who need, but cannot afford, critical health services,” adds Direct Relief President and CEO Thomas Tighe.

Metallica’s Month of Giving, which lasted throughout May, was launched in partnership with the band’s All Within My Hands charity foundation. This year’s initiative marked the second year of the campaign, following its debut in May 2020.
