To the citizens of DeWitt Trash pickup will resume as soon as the Hazen Landfill reopens and the roads clear. At this time we are probably looking at Monday, Feb 22 at the earliest! City hall will be closed but if you need to get in touch with someone call the Dewitt police department and they can get us the information…I wish we had equipment to clear our city streets but we don’t. Most of the main roads are passable with 4 wheel drive vehicles, but are slick in spots. The side streets are almost impassable with a two wheel drive vehicle. The weather forecast is calling for more snow and freezing temperatures through Friday. Hopefully, if the forecast is correct we should start seeing some relief by Sunday.
