An investigation is continuing into a deadly fire Saturday that resulted in the death of two people and injuries to a third.

The fire was at a camper trailer at 4811 Goodfaith Road and while firefighters were battling the blaze, discovered two victims inside who were deceased. Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley said late Saturday that the State Crime Laboratory will have to identify the victims.

According to a press release from Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services, firefighters on the scene were alerted to one person who was trapped inside a smoke-filled shop building that was unable to get him. That person was rescued and given oxygen before being taken to Jefferson Regional Hospital.

The cause of the fire, which was reported at 7:01 a.m. is still under investigation by police and the fire marshal’s office.

The camper trainer was said to be a total loss.
