A two-vehicle accident in Drew County Wednesday resulted in the death of a McGehee woman.
Nancy White, 69, was killed when the 2013 Kia she was driving west on U.S. Highway 278 crossed the center line and into the oncoming lane, striking the left side of two axles of an empty log trailer that was eastbound.
According to a preliminary report from the Department of Public Safety, the accident was reported at 3:05 p.m. and the weather was clear, and the roadway was dry at the time.
The death was the 198th reported so far this year on the state’s highways.
