The McGehee City Council held its monthly meeting last Tuesday and announced the new Police Chief Scott Williams will officially be in office Monday morning. According to the city, the incoming Chief is responsible for continuing the community’s high level of policing servicers, developing successful public outreach programs, while also protecting and serving the citizens of McGehee.
Chief Scott Williams has served sixteen years of law enforcement experience and served as an assistant Chief in McGehee in 2018. Chief Williams also is a Certified Criminal Investigator and a certified Law Enforcement Instructor.
McGehee City Council also approved a new Airport Commission to replace the McGehee Aviation Commission. The new commission will have seven members with the six current members serving five year terms and one new member serving an initial term of four years.
