Winter weather in the Deltaplex area has caused issues with the roads and bridges since early this week, and crews have been out working hard to make sure they have been treated so drivers can travel is needed.

Pine Bluff Mayor Shirley Washington joined the Oldies 101.3 FM morning show on Wednesday to talk about the road conditions, saying crews woke up early to get started on the roads.

Washington said there were numerous reports of accidents within the city on Tuesday, but things have been “quite” so far Wednesday morning.

She also spoke about the “priority” areas that the road department has focused on.

While power outages haven’t been much of a problem so far, Washington said Entergy Arkansas is expecting outages to come with the next wave of winter weather that is expected to come through later today.

Washington also said that city employees are working remotely from home, and the weather coming in later today will determine when they will return to work in city offices.
